Lucknow | July 16, 2026 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved one of the biggest urban infrastructure projects for Varanasi. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by the Prime Minister, cleared two Varanasi Elevated Corridors worth ₹25,446 crore. These projects will reduce traffic congestion, improve travel for pilgrims, and strengthen road connectivity across the holy city.

The two corridors will connect key highways, major ghats, and the Varanasi Ring Road.
