
In a landmark move to revitalize its rural economy, the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government is set to invest nearly ₹22,000 crore to improve farm incomes, create jobs, and boost infrastructure in underdeveloped areas of the state.
This strategic investment aims to integrate rural Uttar Pradesh into the broader mainstream of economic growth through a composite funding model supported by both the central and state governments.
Key Focus Areas of the Investment
The investment will target improvements across multiple sectors:
- Agricultural development to help double farmers’ income.
- Employment generation through rural industry and skilling.
- Sanitation and public health under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin).
- Infrastructure such as roads, water supply, and public services.
Of the total ₹22,000 crore:
- ₹10,500 crore will be sourced from centrally sponsored schemes.
- ₹11,500 crore will be funded by the Uttar Pradesh state government.
Holistic Village Development Model
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to adopt a holistic development model for villages, ensuring all citizen-centric services such as healthcare, sanitation, roads, and education reach the grassroots level.
₹2,000 Cr for Sanitation Projects
Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin), ₹2,000 crore will be allocated for:
- Solid and liquid waste management.
- Strengthening of village sanitation committees.
- Public awareness and cleanliness campaigns.
