Uttar Pradesh Pharma Collaboration Gets a Boost in Japan

UP delegation explores pharma and biotech partnerships in Japan to boost investment and innovation in healthcare.

Lucknow | 30, July 2025 : A team from Uttar Pradesh went to Osaka, Japan. Shri Awanish Awasthi led the group. He is the Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister. They met with leaders from the Kansai Pharmaceutical Industries Association (KPIA). The goal was to grow the Uttar Pradesh Pharma Collaboration.

Talks on New Drugs and Health Devices

The team met top officials from KPIA:

  • Dr. Hayashi Yoshikazu
  • Mr. Masakazu Susaki
  • Mr. Shimai Koji
  • Dr. Masafumi Yamagishi

They spoke about making new medicines. They also talked about generic drugs, testing, and medical tools. Clinical trials were another key point.

Uttar Pradesh Pharma Collaboration

Focus on Gene Medicines and Innovation

Both sides showed interest in gene-based treatments. They also talked about starting a Bio-Innovation Cluster in Uttar Pradesh.

This will help with new research and sharing ideas. It will also support health and biotech growth in the state.

UP Policies Encourage Investment

The UP team shared new state policies. These include:

  • FDI and FCI Policy 2023
  • Pharma Policy
  • Medical Device Park (MDP)

These plans make it easy to invest and do business in Uttar Pradesh. They also help new companies and workers.
