Lucknow | July 18, 2026 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 75 redeveloped railway stations across 20 states under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme on July 18. The ambitious railway modernization initiative is one of the world’s largest station redevelopment programmes. The latest phase of redevelopment has been completed at an investment of nearly ₹1,570 crore. Dhampur Railway Station Becomes Future Connectivity Hub

Dhampur Railway Station in Bijnor district has been redeveloped at an estimated cost of ₹14 crore.

The station has undergone a complete transformation from its old colonial-era structure into a modern transport hub with upgraded passenger amenities.

The redevelopment includes:

• Modern lighting
• Digital passenger information systems
• Enhanced accessibility

Dhampur is expected to become even more important after the proposed Dhampur–Kashipur railway line is completed. A survey is currently underway for the proposed 70-kilometre rail corridor, which will improve connectivity between western Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
