Empowering Youth with Modern Skills
CM Yogi’s Message to Young People
CM Yogi congratulated the youth and stressed the need for modern skills like artificial intelligence (AI) and digital literacy. He said, “Skilled youth are the backbone of a self-reliant India. The double-engine government is committed to giving jobs and self-employment.”
Uttar Pradesh: Huge Potential for Skilled Youth
A State Full of Opportunities
With 25 crore people, Uttar Pradesh has 56%–60% working-age population. The government aims to connect this talent with meaningful jobs. CM Yogi praised industry leaders, public representatives, and young trainees for shaping a skilled Uttar Pradesh.
This Year’s Theme: AI and Digital Skills
This year’s theme, “Youth Empowerment through AI and Digital Skills,” supports the government’s vision of a tech-driven future. CM Yogi shared how, in the last eight years, UP has revived many traditional trades and turned scale into skill.
Digital Push: Smartphones and Modern ITIs
Smartphones for 2 Crore Youth
As part of the digital mission, the state is giving smartphones and tablets to 2 crore youth. Already, 50 lakh students have received them.
Modern Training with Tata Technologies
Working with Tata Technologies, the government has upgraded 150 government ITIs with new technology. UP now has 400 government and 3,000 private ITIs, offering low-cost skill training. Students in private ITIs also get scholarships and incentives.
Every Youth Deserves Opportunities
CM Yogi said, “Every young person deserves training and work that matches their skills and dreams.”
Jobs through Big Investments
UP’s growth is also driven by big investments. Over the last eight years, better law and order and business-friendly policies have turned ₹15 lakh crore of proposals into action. These investments are creating lakhs of jobs across sectors.
Industry and Education: Better Together
CM Yuva Scheme: Loans for Young Entrepreneurs
CM Yogi talked about the CM Yuva Scheme. Under this, youth with skill, ITI, polytechnic, or college degrees can get interest-free loans up to ₹5 lakh. Launched on January 24, the scheme has already helped 50,000 youth. Beneficiaries repay only the main amount — the government pays the interest. A second loan of up to ₹7.5 lakh will help scale up their work.
Boosting Traditional Skills and Rural Jobs
ODOP and Vishwakarma Yojana
The CM explained how flagship schemes like One District One Product (ODOP) and Mukhyamantri Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana are reviving old trades.
- 1.5 crore people have jobs through ODOP.
- Over one lakh artisans have received training and toolkits under the Vishwakarma scheme.
These projects strengthen the rural economy and give respect and income to traditional skills.
Inspiring Success Stories
CM Yogi shared real stories of skilled youth who turned their lives around. Many struggled after school but are now earning ₹25,000–₹1,00,000 per month with skill training. He said, “Frustration leads nowhere. With training and hard work, anyone can succeed.”
During the event, 15 young achievers got the ‘Youth Icon’ award, and 11 candidates received job appointment letters.
Stronger Links Between Industry and Colleges
Project Work with Real Industry
CM Yogi announced that students in industrial training will now do project work inside industries, gaining real-world experience. They will also get a ₹5,000 monthly stipend for one year under the PM and CM internship schemes. After this, industries may hire them — or their experience will help them get better jobs elsewhere.
“There are endless chances for those who have skills,” he added.
NEP 2020: Study and Skill Together
The CM praised the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which lets students get both academic degrees and skill training. Schools are now offering vocational training, so students can get dual degrees or certificates.
Future Skills and Traditional Trades
CM Yogi highlighted new job areas like drones, robotics, AI, and 3D printing, plus the steady need for skilled workers in plumbing, electrical work, and AC repair. “Our goal is to match training with market needs for maximum jobs,” he said.
Special Guests and New Initiatives
The event was attended by many leaders, including Skill Development Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal, MSME Minister Rakesh Sachan, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, and others.
CM Yogi also:
- Flagged off 5 skill chariots to spread awareness statewide.
- Honoured industry partners with the ‘Industry Ambassador’ award.
