How CM Yogi Adityanath’s Vision is Driving Uttar Pradesh’s Strong Economic Growth and Jobs

Lucknow | 15, July 2025 : Uttar Pradesh Economic Growth has reached a new milestone under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership. At a recent high-level meeting, he reviewed the state’s progress, revenue sources, and development plan. He said Uttar Pradesh Economic Growth has moved from “possibilities to results,” showing real changes on the ground. This growth aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat.

UP’s GSDP Grows Strongly

Gross State Domestic Product Touches ₹29.6 Lakh Crore

The state’s GSDP reached ₹29.6 lakh crore in 2024–25. This is an 80% rise since 2020–21.

Bigger Role in India’s Economy

UP’s share in India’s economy rose from 8.4% to 8.9% during this time. CM Yogi called it a big step towards a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh. He set a new goal to push this share to 10% by 2026.

Big Changes: More Industry and Services

The CM said UP’s economy is changing shape. The manufacturing and services sectors are growing fast. The share of farming is slowly going down.

‘Make in UP’ is the Way Ahead

He said the ‘Make in UP’ plan is key for the next 10 years. He asked officers to help set up more factories, especially in villages and small towns. This will create more local jobs.

Agriculture: Good Growth, But Some Gaps

Record Grain Output

Food grain output is set to hit 722 lakh metric tonnes in 2024–25. This is 100 lakh metric tonnes more than in 2020–21.

Closing the Gap

But there is still a gap between districts. In some areas, wheat yield is 46 quintals per hectare. In other places, it is only 30 quintals. CM Yogi called this a big gap. He asked for technical help and awareness drives to fix it.

Animal Husbandry: More Focus Needed

UP is number one in milk production in India. Egg production is also growing well. But CM Yogi said output must improve per animal too.

He told officers to check data on breed quality, feed plans, and the dairy sector. This will help keep up the growth.

Factories: Local Jobs for Local People

27,000+ Registered Factories

UP now has over 27,000 factories in 2024–25. CM Yogi said every district must grow in industry. This will create jobs and help state income.

Strong District Industry Centers

He told officers to make District Industry Centers stronger. These centers must help new factories get registered and give them full support.

IT Exports Jump by 40%

UP’s IT exports through STPI reached ₹46,800 crore in 2024–25. This is a 40% rise from 2021–22.

CM Yogi said IT is a big chance for young people.

Tourism, Trade and Services Growing Well

The CM saw good results in tourism, hospitality, and trade. More tourists are coming to UP, especially after COVID.

Revenue: More GST & Excise Collection

GST Crosses ₹1.49 Lakh Crore

UP’s GST collection for 2024–25 was over ₹1.49 lakh crore, up 6.6% from last year.

Excise Up by 15%

Excise duty brought in ₹52,574 crore, up 15% from last year. CM Yogi said this shows UP is becoming self-reliant. He said this money must be used for public services and welfare work.

Road Transport: New Routes, New Jobs

The CM called road transport a good area for the future. He asked to find new bus routes for private services. This will help public transport, bring in more revenue, and create jobs.

Good Data is the Base for Good Plans

CM Yogi said all departments must keep correct and updated data. He told them to build a clear plan for farming, factories, services, energy, and people’s skills. This plan must be tracked with the Planning Department.

He said good data is the base for good decisions. It will help UP become a developed state.

A Vision for Viksit Bharat

Under CM Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is moving from ideas to real results. Growth in industry, services, IT, and farming is turning UP into a self-reliant state. This will help build a Viksit Bharat for all.
