UPSIDA: Turning Uttar Pradesh Into India’s Next Industrial Hub

Clear Policies and Reforms Drive Growth

Lucknow | 8, July 2025 :  Backed by clear industrial policies and transparent reforms, the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) is driving strong economic growth in the state.

Revenue More Than Triples in Three Years

UPSIDA’s revenue has grown fast. In 2021–22, it was much lower than today. It touched ₹1,898 crore in 2023–24 and may reach ₹1,937 crore in 2024–25.

“This shows our financial strength and investors’ trust in Uttar Pradesh,” said Mayur Maheshwari, CEO of UPSIDA.

More Than Just Giving Land

UPSIDA is not just an agency for land. It now helps make policies, brings in investments, and builds new industrial areas. Its goal is to turn Uttar Pradesh into India’s next big industrial state, create jobs, and grow the economy in a fair way.

Over 1,600 Plots Allotted

UPSIDA has given over 1,600 plots for industries in three years. In 2024–25 alone, 798 plots were allotted. This helps new factories come up and gives thousands of people jobs.

Better Services With Digital Push

Fast and Easy Online Services

UPSIDA uses 42 digital services under the Digital India Mission. These include:

  • ‘Nivesh Mitra’ portal
  • E-auctions
  • Online payments
  • Online complaint help

It has got over 31,000 online requests. 96% of these have been solved. This saves time and avoids delays.

Record Budget for New Infrastructure

UPSIDA has approved a record ₹6,190 crore budget for 2025–26. This money will help build:

  • Smart roads
  • Better water supply and sewage
  • 24×7 electricity in industrial areas

Spending Less, Doing More

UPSIDA cut office costs by 9%. At the same time, money for roads and other works rose from ₹104 crore in 2017–18 to ₹415 crore in 2023–24. This shows good use of funds.

Focus on Women’s Safety and Skills

UPSIDA wants more women to work in factories. It has built pink toilets, dormitories, and help desks for women. It also runs training and health camps for women under the Atal Industrial Infrastructure Mission (AIIM).

Green Steps for Clean Growth

“UPSIDA is working to protect the environment. We are building green zones, treating waste, and cutting pollution,” said Maheshwari.

New Schemes Bring Big Investments

In May 2025, UPSIDA’s Mega Allotment Scheme gave 113 plots to new investors. This brought in ₹700 crore and will create over 4,800 jobs.

Small and Large Firms Both Benefit

UPSIDA makes it easy for small industries to get cheap land and simple clearances. Big companies get special clusters and policy help to grow fast.

The Way Ahead

UPSIDA’s strong revenue, clear policies, and focus on people make Uttar Pradesh ready to become India’s next big industrial hub. Jobs, growth, and fair development are now within reach.
