IIA Celebrates 40 Years of Supporting MSMEs with Commitment and Achievements
Union Minister Anupriya Patel Highlights IIA’s Crucial Role in MSME Growth

Lucknow | 13 September 2025 : The Indian Industries Association (IIA) marked its 40th anniversary in Lucknow. The event celebrated IIA’s journey of effort, success, and service to the MSME sector.
Union Minister Anupriya Patel attended as chief guest. She praised IIA for its long support to small industries. She also said the group has been a strong and trusted voice for MSMEs.
IIA’s Four Decades of Work
IIA started in 1985 in Meerut. A few small entrepreneurs joined hands to solve daily challenges. Over time, the group grew into a powerful body with more than 15,500 members.
The association worked closely with government offices and ministries. As a result, MSMEs’ problems were heard and solved on time. Step by step, IIA became an important part of India’s MSME growth.
Anniversary Celebrations and New Projects
The celebration began at IIA Bhawan, Lucknow. Instead of lighting a lamp, leaders collected water from seven rivers. This was done to spread awareness about water conservation.
During the event, IIA launched new projects:
- IIA Evolution & Skill Development System
- MSME Knowledge Bank (new edition)
- IIA Chatbot for businesses and users
In addition, IIA started an Industry–Academia Connect program. A “Shark Tank” session was held with startups from IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur, Invertis University, and Future University, Bareilly. They shared their ideas before 150 industry leaders. The effort earned strong praise and will continue.
MSMEs and India’s Future Vision
IIA President Dinesh Goyal thanked past members for their role in building the group. He said Uttar Pradesh could become a hub for medical equipment. He also stressed the need for “Vocal for Local” to reduce imports.
Union Minister Anupriya Patel said that keeping an organization active for 40 years is rare. She added that MSMEs are key to India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. Furthermore, she promised full government support to MSMEs in facing global trade challenges.
Honoring Past Leaders
Former presidents of IIA were honored for their service. Finally, the event ended with the cutting of the 40th anniversary cake. Treasurer Awadhesh Agarwal delivered the vote of thanks.
For four decades, the Indian Industries Association (IIA) has stood as a strong partner for the MSME sector. With new projects and steady government support, IIA will continue to guide MSMEs and help India move toward self-reliance and development.
