Centers of Excellence for Flowers, Fruits, and Honey to Boost UP Farming

UP Government Plans New Centers of Excellence to Raise Farmer Incomes and Promote Modern Horticulture

Lucknow | 25, July 2025 : Uttar Pradesh will open new Centers of Excellence to help farmers grow flowers, fruits, vegetables, and honey. These new hubs will bring better seeds, modern tools, and expert training to local farmers.

Helping Farmers Earn More

The new Centers of Excellence will teach farmers how to use new ideas. They will learn to grow more crops with better methods. The goal is to raise farmer incomes and cut waste. Farmers will get help to export their crops too.

Horticulture Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh wants farmers to earn more than the national average. He has asked officers to plan clear budgets and use every rupee well.

New Centers in Many Districts

New Centers of Excellence will come up in Kashi, Mathura, Ayodhya, Mirzapur, Jhansi, and Rae Bareli. These places will focus on flowers, strawberries, dragon fruit, citrus fruits, dates, and honey.

Farmers will also get training from big research groups like NBRI. Local nurseries will get new tools and faster support. Better markets for honey and other products will help farmers get fair prices.

Clear Plans for Progress

The Minister said all files must move online. This helps farmers see how work is done. Officers must use social media to share good news.

Every district will hold meetings with farmers under the Block One Crop plan. These talks will help farmers learn about new tools and get ready to export their crops.

Better Use of Budget

Officials must finish work on time. The government wants every scheme to reach the ground. Officers who delay work will face action. If a task is stuck for more than three months, steps will be taken fast.

More Markets and Cold Storage

To help farmers earn more, new cold stores and chambers will come up. These buildings will keep crops fresh and ready for sale. Local markets for flowers, fruits, vegetables, and honey will also grow.

Why It Matters

The Centers of Excellence will help farmers learn and earn. They will see how new seeds and ideas can boost farm income. The state wants farmers to grow good crops and send them across India and abroad.

This big plan will help small and women farmers most. More jobs, better crops, and fair prices will build a strong rural economy.

UP’s Goal for the Future

Uttar Pradesh wants to be a top state for modern farming. The new Centers of Excellence will bring global ideas to local farms. Farmers, markets, and buyers will all gain from this plan. The state will keep working to build a better, greener farming future for every grower.
