Gorakhpur Link Expressway Sets New Benchmark with International Certification – Ready to Revolutionize Travel

Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh: In a major milestone for infrastructure in eastern Uttar Pradesh, the 91-kilometer-long Gorakhpur Link Expressway has passed rigorous international testing standards and is now ready to open for public use. With high-speed travel, smooth road surfaces, and advanced safety features, this expressway promises to transform connectivity between Gorakhpur, Lucknow, and Delhi.

What sets this expressway apart is not just its strategic importance, but also its certification by Sweden’s prestigious ETL University. Using cutting-edge equipment and real-time sensors, the expressway underwent intense scrutiny for ride comfort and road surface quality — specifically the International Roughness Index (IRI), a global benchmark for road smoothness. The verdict? The expressway exceeded expectations.

Smooth Ride Ahead

The tests involved specially equipped vehicles loaded with high-tech sensors, which recorded everything from vibrations to passenger comfort at high speeds. The result was a green signal for world-class ride quality, making it one of the smoothest roads in India. According to engineers, passengers will now be able to travel long distances with minimal bumps and maximum comfort.

“This isn’t just another road — it’s a technological leap. The testing proved that our expressway can compete with the best globally,” said an official from the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA).

Ready for Inauguration

All eyes are now on June 20, when Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to officially inaugurate the expressway. Built to seamlessly connect with the Purvanchal Expressway, this link provides a direct and faster route to Lucknow and Delhi from Gorakhpur, dramatically reducing travel time and boosting economic potential for the region.

A Vision Realized

The Gorakhpur Link Expressway isn’t just a roadway — it’s a symbol of growth, progress, and innovation. From technical excellence to environmental considerations and passenger comfort, it stands as a shining example of what future infrastructure in India can look like.

As the state pushes forward with modernization, this expressway is more than just a new road — it’s a gateway to opportunity, smooth rides, and a better tomorrow.
