PNB Hosts National Seminar on Artificial Intelligence and Narakas Chairpersons’ Conference
PNB reinforces its leadership in AI and Rajbhasha implementation through a national-level seminar and the launch of “PNB Pravah” publication

New Delhi | 28, July 2025 : Punjab National Bank (PNB) conducted the All-India Inter-Bank Seminar on Artificial Intelligence and the Narakas Chairpersons’ Conference-cum-Review Meeting at its Head Office. Mr. Ashok Chandra, Managing Director and CEO of PNB, chaired the event.
Dr. Meenakshi Jolly, Joint Secretary, Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, attended as the Chief Guest.
PNB Launches AI Booklet “PNB Pravah”
PNB released “PNB Pravah – A Collection of Articles on Artificial Intelligence” during the event.
Mr. Ashok Chandra, Dr. Meenakshi Jolly, and senior leaders including Mr. M. Paramashivam (Executive Director), Mr. Rakesh Grover (Chief General Manager – Rajbhasha), Mr. Ashish Karmarkar, and Ms. Manisha Sharma (Assistant General Manager) jointly unveiled the publication.
The booklet presents key insights into artificial intelligence and its role in modern banking.
PNB Strengthens Commitment to Hindi and Regional Languages
In his address, Mr. Ashok Chandra said,
“Hindi is our official language, and PNB remains fully dedicated to its growth and implementation.”
He shared that PNB coordinates 28 Narakas committees nationwide. According to him, banking can truly reach rural India only through Hindi and local languages.
He also emphasized that PNB, established by freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai, holds a deep responsibility to promote the national language. Because of its heritage, the bank continues to support linguistic inclusion in financial services.
Dr. Meenakshi Jolly Applauds PNB’s Rajbhasha Leadership
Dr. Meenakshi Jolly praised PNB’s leadership in Rajbhasha implementation. She encouraged bank professionals to work in simple, effective Hindi.
She also recommended using the Kanthasth 2.0 translation tool to improve communication and efficiency in daily tasks.
PNB Honors Language Champions
PNB celebrated excellence through awards:
- It recognized winners of the All-India Inter-Bank Essay Competition.
- It honored the Best Narakas Chairpersons and Member Secretaries.
- Mr. Ashok Chandra, Dr. Jolly, and Mr. Paramashivam presented the awards to the recipients.
This initiative encourages better participation in official language promotion.
Ms. Manisha Sharma Concludes with Thanks
Ms. Manisha Sharma, Secretary of Delhi Narakas and Assistant General Manager, delivered the vote of thanks. She appreciated the speakers, guests, and participants for contributing to the success of the event.
