Union Bank of India Wins Kirti Puraskar 2024-25

Union Bank of India honored with Kirti Puraskar for promoting Hindi and excellence in official language use.

Gandhinagar, Gujarat | 16 September 2025 :  Union Bank of India has won the Kirti Puraskar for 2024-25. The Ministry of Home Affairs gave the award in two areas – Best Use of Official Language and Best House Magazine – Union Srijan.

Awards at the Language Conference

The 5th All India Official Language Conference was held in Gandhinagar on September 14, 2025.

  • Amit Shah, Union Minister of Home Affairs & Co-operation, gave the first prize for Union Srijan. Nitesh Ranjan, Executive Director of Union Bank of India, received it.
  • The bank also won for Excellent Use of Official Language. Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State for Law & Justice, and Dinesh Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP, gave this award to Suresh Chandra Teli, Chief General Manager of HR.

Importance of the Kirti Puraskar

The Kirti Puraskar is the top award from the Ministry of Home Affairs for promoting Hindi. It is given to ministries, banks, PSUs, and journals that show strong results in using the language.

This honour shows Union Bank of India’s steady work in promoting Hindi across its network and publications.

Book Launch and Cultural Events

At the event, leaders released Union Bhasha Vaibhav, a book by the bank. The book highlights the role of banks in building a developed India by 2047.

On the second day, Union Bank of India, along with 12 public sector banks, presented a prayer song. The performance showed unity and support for Hindi.

Recognition of TOLIC Committees

The Department of Official Language also awarded 11 Town Official Language Implementation Committees (TOLICs) led by Union Bank of India. Their performance added to the bank’s achievements.

By winning the Kirti Puraskar, Union Bank of India proved its leadership in promoting Hindi in banking. The bank continues to blend tradition with modern services and remains committed to cultural growth.
