NLC Bharat Takes Record Delegation to NCSL 2025 in Boston
130 Indian lawmakers from 24 states join global leaders at NCSL 2025 in Boston, led by NLC Bharat.

Boston 19, August 2025: NLC Bharat led India’s largest group of lawmakers to the NCSL Summit 2025 in Boston, USA. The summit was held from August 4 to 6. A total of 130 MLAs and MLCs joined from 24 states and 21 parties. This year, the event saw lawmakers from 102 countries, making it one of the most diverse in its history.
Key Themes at the Summit
Indian lawmakers joined sessions on:
- Healthcare
- Artificial Intelligence in governance
- Climate change
- Economy and jobs
- Women’s rights
- Transport policy
They also attended 100+ side sessions. These meetings helped share new ideas and practical solutions with peers from around the world.
Visits to U.S. Institutions
The delegation toured the Massachusetts State House. There, they watched how state lawmakers in the U.S. debate and pass laws.
They also visited Harvard University and MIT. At both places, they met top scholars and leaders. Discussions focused on how research can improve real-world policymaking.
The group also met Mr. Wayne Harper, outgoing NCSL President. They welcomed Marcus C. Evans Jr., the new president.
Dr. Rahul V. Karad on the Visit
Dr. Rahul V. Karad, Founder of NLC Bharat, said:

NCSL’s 50th Anniversary
The Indian group also joined the 50-year celebrations of NCSL. They met senior U.S. leaders and Indian-origin experts. Talks focused on making governance more people-first and responsive.
Last Year’s Milestone
In 2024, NLC Bharat took 50 lawmakers from India to the NCSL in Louisville, Kentucky. That effort began a new era of cross-country learning and bipartisan dialogue.
