Punjab National Bank Opens First Startup-centric Branch in New Delhi

New Delhi | 27, August 2025 : Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of India’s leading public sector banks, has opened its first Startup-centric Branch at Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi. The new branch is part of the Startup India mission and is designed to encourage entrepreneurship while supporting innovation.

One-stop Banking for Startups

The branch will act as a one-stop solution for startups. It offers services that cover funding, financial products, and specialized schemes. Moreover, it is tailored to meet the unique needs of early-stage businesses.

The inauguration ceremony featured Hon’ble Chief Guest Shri Arvind Kumar, Director General of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI). Shri Ashok Chandra, MD & CEO of PNB, also led the event, along with senior dignitaries including Shri Subodh Sachan, Director STPI, and Shri Ankesh Kumar, Additional Director STPI.

PNB and STPI Sign MoU for Startup Support

During the event, PNB and STPI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Under this partnership, STPI will provide a curated list of incubated, onboarded, and graduated startups to PNB. As a result, these startups will gain direct access to PNB’s startup-focused schemes and banking products.

Furthermore, this collaboration will create smoother access to financial support. STPI will serve as a bridge between startups and the bank, ensuring that young entrepreneurs can find the right financial solutions.

Speaking at the ceremony, PNB MD Shri Ashok Chandra said:

“This Startup-centric Branch offers a comprehensive banking solution for startups. Our collaboration with STPI will strengthen the ecosystem and fuel the growth of young entrepreneurs.”

Meanwhile, Shri Arvind Kumar, Director General of STPI, praised the initiative. He highlighted that the partnership will combine STPI’s technological expertise with PNB’s financial strength. Therefore, it will help create a strong ecosystem that nurtures innovation.
