PNB Gives ₹1 Crore to Uttarakhand Disaster Fund
PNB Stands with Uttarakhand in Time of Need

Dehradun | 11, August 2025 : In a significant show of support, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has contributed ₹1 crore to the Uttarakhand Disaster Management Fund. This donation, made under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, aims to bolster ongoing PNB Uttarakhand relief efforts in the disaster-affected areas of Dharali and Harsil.
PNB’s Swift Response to the Crisis
The contribution was officially presented to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, on August 11, 2025. This action came as a direct and compassionate response to a devastating natural disaster. A severe cloudburst struck the state on August 5, 2025. Consequently, it triggered a series of mudslides and flash floods in Dharali village.
As a result, the calamity caused significant loss of life and property. Many local families were left in distress and in urgent need of assistance. PNB’s timely support is therefore a testament to its commitment to the resilient people of the hill state.
A Pledge of Solidarity and Rebuilding
Shri Ashok Chandra, MD & CEO of PNB, extended his deepest sympathies. “Our hearts go out to the people of Uttarakhand,” he stated. “They are facing this difficult time with extraordinary courage. In this moment of grief, PNB stands beside every family. Our support is more than just financial assistance. It is a heartfelt pledge of solidarity and compassion. Furthermore, together, we will heal, rebuild, and emerge stronger than ever.” PNB’s deep connection with the people of Uttarakhand drives its dedicated efforts to provide meaningful assistance.
The Broader Impact of the CSR Initiative
This contribution will be managed by the Uttarakhand Disaster Management Authority. This state body is responsible for coordinating and implementing relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts. The funds will be crucial for rebuilding damaged homes. In addition, they will provide essentials to displaced families and restore critical infrastructure in the affected regions.
