New Industries to Get Boost, MSME Issues to be Addressed: Vijay Kiran Anand
Invest UP and IIA Work Together on MSME Problems

Lucknow | 28, March 2025 : The Indian Industries Association (IIA) met Invest UP CEO Vijay Kiran Anand on Thursday. The meeting focused on pending problems of MSME units in Uttar Pradesh.
Main Points of the Meeting
The IIA team gave a report of key issues. Anand listened and told his team to prepare a clear list. He also promised quick action on every point.
The delegation asked for faster approvals from Gorakhpur Development Authority. They also wanted more support for ODOP products. New MSME parks were also suggested to help small units.
In addition, IIA asked for simple rules in tourism and warehouse sectors. They stressed the need for better export storage. They also demanded faster payment of incentives.
Changes in the Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy 2017 were also requested. The team further asked to include small units in the Leather and Footwear Policy 2025.
Other demands were capital subsidy for rice and flour mills. They wanted reforms in mandi fees for food processing units. Moreover, they suggested raising the open access limit to 100 KW.
Issues in Steel and Sugar
The delegation raised the case of a steel plant in Muzaffarnagar. The project needs a 132 KW transmission line. They also spoke about sugar and khandsari units. As a result, they asked for a quick mandi fee solution.
CEO’s Response
Vijay Kiran Anand praised IIA for their efforts. He said the suggestions are important for MSME growth. Therefore, he told his team to act quickly.
Another meeting will be held next month. This will track progress and solve new problems.
