Taipei (Taiwan): Team India made a remarkable mark at the 9th World Tai Chi Championship 2025, winning a total of six medals — three gold, two silver, and one bronze. The championship was hosted in Taipei, Taiwan, where more than 3,000 athletes from 22 countries competed in various Tai Chi and Push Hands categories.
The Indian athletes showcased skill, discipline, and cultural pride throughout the event, making the country proud on an international stage.
India’s Medal Tally at the 9th World Tai Chi Championship 2025
According to Mrs. Manju Tripathi, General Secretary of the Kung Fu Federation of India, the Indian contingent delivered an impressive performance during the two-day championship held on October 25–26, 2025, at the Taipei Arena Multi-Story Stadium.
The event was inaugurated by Grandmaster Mr. Ye Wen Quan, President of the World Tai Chi Federation.

On the second day of the 9th World Tai Chi Championship 2025, India’s Aakash Anand dominated with two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal, totaling four medals in different Tai Chi categories.
His achievements included:
- Gold in Yang Style Tai Chi (Men’s Category)
- Gold in Yang Style Tai Chi Stick
- Silver in Fixed Push Hands (Men’s Category)
- Bronze in Tai Chi Form (Men’s Category)
Another proud moment came when Nirbhay Raj won a gold medal in the Fixed Push Hands Men’s Category.
Among the women participants, Sanskriti Tripathi earned a silver medal in the Yang Style Tai Chi (Women’s Category), while Khushi Tripathi secured another silver medal in the Yang Style Tai Chi Stick (Women’s Category).
A Global Celebration of Tai Chi and Culture
International Coach Gyan Prakash Tripathi shared that the closing ceremony was filled with colors and culture. Players from several nations presented performances representing their traditions and heritage.
The Indian team’s cultural presentation — featuring Surya Namaskar, Kalaripayattu, Shiv Tandav, Indian Female Tribal Dance, Bhangra, and Ghoomar — received overwhelming appreciation from the global audience. Their performance beautifully reflected India’s rich cultural heritage and spiritual depth.

The President and Secretary of the World Tai Chi Federation congratulated the Indian team for their outstanding performance and praised their artistic presentation during the ceremony.
