State Targets Two World Records and 37 Crore Saplings to Boost Green Cover

Lucknow | 8, July 2025 : The Uttar Pradesh Forest Department wants to set two Guinness World Records. This will happen during a big tree plantation campaign on July 9, 2025. The goal is to protect nature and get more people to join in.

First Record: Most People Planting Trees at Once

The first record is for the most people planting saplings at the same place and same time.

Where Will It Happen?

  • Place: Dr. Ambedkar Central University, Lucknow
  • Goal: 2,100 people will plant trees at once
  • Current Record: 1,229 girls in Assam did this in 2023

Uttar Pradesh wants to break this record by a big number.

Second Record: Biggest Online Photo Album of Tree Planters

The second record is for the largest online photo album of people planting trees.

Current Record

  • Who Holds It: Hero MotoCorp
  • Number of Photos: 1,32,775 people planting trees in 2021

UP’s Plan to Beat It

UP has made a special website and server. People from all over the state can upload photos of themselves planting trees. These photos will count for the world record.

Why Not Count All Trees Together?

Guinness World Records does not allow counting tree planting done at many places for one record. So, UP picked these two smart record ideas instead.

Big Target: 37 Crore Saplings in One Day

The state wants to plant 37 crore trees on July 9. This will:

  • Grow more green areas
  • Get more people to plant trees
  • Help protect the environment

Many People Will Take Part

People from all districts will join this drive.

  • Guinness judges will be in Lucknow to watch how it goes.
  • The record try will happen on Wednesday.
  • People can keep planting trees and upload photos for one month.
