Japanese Firm to Invest ₹250 Crore in EV Component Plant in UP

DENSO’s ₹250 crore EV component plant to power UP’s electric vehicle growth and local jobs.

Lucknow | 24, July 2025 : DENSO Corporation, a top Japanese auto parts maker, will spend ₹250 crore to build an EV component plant in Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. This plant will make motor generators. These parts are key for hybrid and electric cars.

Deal Signed in Japan

The plan was finalised during a meeting in Japan. A team from Uttar Pradesh, led by Principal Secretary Alok Kumar and Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, visited DENSO’s office in Kariya, Aichi. The meeting happened during the World Expo 2025 in Osaka.

Stronger Ties with Japan

The talks focused on teamwork, tech sharing, and training young people. Officials from Uttar Pradesh also met Osaka leaders, Kida Kaoru and Kinjo Katsunori. They spoke about the state’s strong workforce and easy business rules.

State Becoming an EV Hub

At the Expo, Invest UP showed how Uttar Pradesh supports clean cars. The new EV component plant will help build a local supply chain for electric vehicles. This makes the state more attractive for green investors.
