UP Government to Fund Pilgrimages for Buddhist and Sikh Devotees with New Grant Schemes

Lucknow | 6, July 2025 : Good news for Buddhist and Sikh devotees! Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced two new pilgrimage plans for these communities.
Two New Yojanas for Devotees
Buddhist Tirtha Darshan Yojana
The Buddhist Tirtha Darshan Yojana will help Buddhist people visit holy places. Buddhist monks will get special priority.
Panch Takht Yatra Yojana
The Panch Takht Yatra Yojana is for Sikh people. They can visit the five important Takht Sahib sites:
- Shri Anandpur Sahib, Punjab
- Shri Akal Takht Sahib, Amritsar, Punjab
- Shri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo, Punjab
- Shri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, Maharashtra
- Shri Harmandir Ji Sahib (Patna Sahib), Patna, Bihar
₹10,000 Grant for Every Devotee
Each person will get at least ₹10,000 as help for the trip. The IRCTC will run both schemes with the state government.

CM Yogi said that pilgrimages help people find peace. They also bring people together. The state wants to help every citizen visit places linked to their faith.
