EBG Group Signs Brand Licensing Deal to Strengthen Daewoo Home Appliances India

EBG Group will invest ₹100 crore, open 100 stores by 2027, and introduce AI-powered smart home appliances under the Daewoo brand in India

New Delhi | June 29, 2026: EBG Group has signed a strategic brand licensing agreement with South Korean giant POSCO International to expand Daewoo Home Appliances India. The partnership will strengthen Daewoo’s presence in India’s fast-growing home appliances market while introducing new products and advanced smart home solutions.

The agreement covers major domestic appliances, representing nearly 70% of the Home and Kitchen Appliances segment in India.

₹100 Crore Investment to Drive Growth

As part of its expansion strategy, EBG Group will invest ₹100 crore over the next three years. The investment will support product development, retail expansion, distribution, manufacturing, localization, and the launch of new appliance categories.

Moreover, the company plans to open its first flagship Daewoo Experience Store in Delhi soon. Three additional stores are already planned. By 2027, EBG Group aims to establish nearly 100 Daewoo stores across India.

Daewoo Home Appliances India to Offer Wide Product Range

Under the agreement, EBG Group will manage the development, manufacturing, distribution, and marketing of Daewoo Home Appliances India.

The initial product portfolio will include:

  • Refrigerators
  • Washing Machines
  • Air Conditioners
  • Dishwashers
  • Other major home appliances

Powered by advanced Korean technology, the products will focus on high performance, energy efficiency, and reliability. Around 16% of the initial product range will consist of energy-efficient appliances that support sustainable living.

Localization to Support Make in India

Initially, the products will be assembled in India using imported components. However, localization will gradually increase from 20% to 80% over time.

This strategy supports the Government of India’s Make in India initiative. In addition, it will create employment opportunities across manufacturing, retail, logistics, distribution, and after-sales services.

Smart Home Ecosystem with AI and IoT

One of the major highlights of the expansion is the planned launch of DAEWOO One, an integrated smart home ecosystem.

The platform will connect multiple home appliances through a single interface. Furthermore, it will combine Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to deliver a smarter and more connected home experience.

Leaders Express Confidence in the Partnership

James Lee, Director of POSCO International Corporation, said India is one of the world’s fastest-growing consumer appliance markets. He added that EBG Group’s strong market understanding makes it the right partner to expand Daewoo’s presence in the country.

Dr. Irfan Khan, Founder of EBG Group, said the partnership combines Daewoo’s global legacy with EBG Group’s local expertise. He added that the company’s investment, localization roadmap, and customer-focused strategy will help make Daewoo a preferred appliance brand in India.

Omnichannel Sales Strategy to Reach Indian Consumers

Daewoo products will reach customers through a strong omnichannel network, including:

  • Company-operated stores
  • Direct-to-consumer platforms
  • E-commerce marketplaces
  • Quick commerce platforms
  • General trade outlets
  • Electronics retail partners

This wide distribution network will help the brand serve customers across urban and emerging markets.

Daewoo Eyes Strong Growth in India’s Appliance Market

The partnership between EBG Group and POSCO International marks an important milestone for Daewoo Home Appliances India. With a ₹100 crore investment, a 100-store expansion plan, increasing localization, and AI-powered smart home solutions, the company aims to become a leading player in India’s growing home appliances industry.
