Prayagraj/Lucknow | June 21, 2026: A grand yoga camp marked the celebration of the 12th International Yoga Day at the sacred Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya attended the event as the chief guest and joined hundreds of citizens in a mass yoga session.
The event brought together yoga practitioners, students, women, and local residents. Participants performed yoga with enthusiasm and renewed their commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

International Yoga Day Prayagraj Promotes Health and Wellness
During the program, Keshav Prasad Maurya highlighted the importance of yoga in daily life. He said yoga helps create balance between the body, mind, and soul. Moreover, he urged people to make yoga a regular part of their routine.

The Deputy Chief Minister distributed certificates of appreciation to distinguished citizens and yoga practitioners from Prayagraj. These individuals received recognition for their contribution to promoting yoga and helping organize the successful event at the Triveni Sangam.
The honour ceremony added a special touch to the celebrations and encouraged greater public participation in yoga activities.

Nearly 190 Countries Celebrate International Yoga Day
Speaking to journalists at the venue, Keshav Prasad Maurya credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for popularizing yoga worldwide. He said the Prime Minister’s continuous efforts have helped India’s cultural heritage gain global recognition.
Furthermore, he noted that nearly 190 countries now celebrate International Yoga Day. As a result, yoga has become a global movement that promotes health, harmony, and well-being.
Deputy CM Extends Wishes to NEET Aspirants
While interacting with the media, Maurya also extended his best wishes to students appearing for the NEET examination. He expressed confidence in the youth and wished them success in their academic journey.
He added that the government remains committed to supporting young people and creating opportunities for their growth and development.

The Deputy Chief Minister also spoke about the current national landscape. He stated that people across different states have strong faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and policies.
