Adani Group to Build EV Stations in Varanasi

A New Push for Clean Energy and Transport in the City.

Lucknow | 11, August 2025 : The Adani Group is helping Varanasi build three new EV charging stations. This plan aims to cut down on city pollution and stop people from stealing electricity to charge their cars.

A Partnership for New Varanasi EV Charging Stations

The Adani Group and the Varanasi Development Authority made a deal. Adani will build the Varanasi EV charging stations. This is great news for the city. Varanasi has over 37,000 electric car owners.

Locations for the New Charging Points

The new stations will be in three places:

  • Near Sant Kabir Park
  • At the office of the Divisional Commissioner
  • In Lalpur

The Adani Group suggested these spots. Now, they are just waiting for a final okay.

Helping with Charging and Pollution

Many car owners charge their EVs by stealing power. The new stations offer a safe way to charge. Pollution officials say car fumes are a big problem. This project is a good step for cleaner air. The Transport Department also wants more e-rickshaws. Varanasi already has 28,000 of them.

The City’s Current Stations

Right now, only one charging station exists. It is at the Transport Corporation’s workshop in Ramtalab. The workshop uses it for its 100 electric buses. Other people also use it, but it is not officially for the public. The city approved 10 more station spots, but work has not started yet.

Working Together for a Better City

Many government groups are working on this. The Public Works Department and the Transport Department are two of them. The Energy Department is also helping. It will give power to the new charging stations. This team effort shows a strong desire to make Varanasi’s air better and its transport more green.
